In the previous post I had referred to some coasts of the Gargano National Park, true natural and uncontaminated beauty of the Italian Adriatic coast in the Puglia region.

Today I am going to finish this series of posts related to this part of Italy, the southern Italy that has countless natural and artistic beauties that allow a varied tourism at any time of the year.

En el post anterior me haba referido a algunas costas del Parque Nacional del Gargano, verdadera belleza natural e incontaminada de la costa adriática italiana en la región de Apulia.

Hoy voy a terminar esta serie de posts relacionados con esta parte de Italia, la Italia meridional que cuenta con innumerables bellezas naturales, artísticas que permiten hacer un turismo variado en cualquier época del año.

If we move a little away from the beach, not too far, we will find the village of Vieste, a medieval borgo that still preserves the narrow streets and white houses.

It is a charming village with a tower on Punta San Francesco and a lighthouse, which, like a lookout over the Adriatic Sea, overlooks the cliff of Santa Croce.

And if this atmosphere of the Middle Ages is not enough, there is also a castle built by Frederick II in the mid-twelfth century.

Vieste is beautiful, its centuries and its history that can be seen at every step fit like a glove.

Walking through its streets one feels invaded by a sense of well-being and calm, enhanced by the courtesy and industriousness of its inhabitants.

Si nos alejamos un poco de la playa, no demasiado, nos encontraremos con el pueblo de Vieste, un borgo medieval que todavia conserva las calles angostas y las casas totalmente blancas.

Es un pueblo encantador con una torre situada en la Punta San Francesco y un faro, que a la manera de un vigia sobre el Mar Adriático, se asoma al acantilado de Santa Croce.

Y si esta atmósfera de la Edad Media no fuera suficiente encontramos también un castillo construido por Federico II a medidados del siglo XII.

Vieste es hermosa, sus siglos y su historia que se ven a cada paso le calzan como un guante.

Recorriendo sus calles uno se siente invadirde una sensación de bienestar y calma, aumentadada por la cortesía y la laboriosidad de sus habitantes.

Although it is an urban settlement, it is part of the Gargano National Park and is the easternmost commune with the Gargano Promontory as an observation point.

The town is surrounded by three bays that fall with a slight slope into the Adriatic Sea.

It has a particularly mild climate, like much of southern Italy. Winters in which the temperature almost never drops below 0 degrees and a fairly mild climate in spring. In midsummer the temperature is around 30 degrees.

A pesar de ser un asentamiento urbano hace parte del Parque Nacional del Gargano y es el comune més oriental teniendo como punto de observación el Promontorio del Gargano.

l pueblo está rodeado por tres bahías que caen con un leve declive en el Mar Adriático.

Tiene un clima particularmente benigno. como gran parte de la Italia meridional. Inviernos en los cuales la temperatura casi nunca bajo a 0 grado y un clima bastante templado en primavera. En pleno verano la temperatura ronda los 30 grados.

One of the first bays around Vieste is Baia della Chianca with a beautiful beach of fine sand and a crystal clear sea with shallow waters.

It is a public beach - there are not many of this type in Italy - free access and use, but offers rental of umbrellas, sun loungers and bar and toilets.

For those who want to complete a day at the beach with other alternatives there is a small island easily accessible in front of the beach.

Una de las primeras bahias que encontramos alrededor de Vieste es Baia della Chianca con una hermosa playa de arena fina y un mar cristalino de aguas poco profundas.

Es una playa pública -no quedan muchas de este tipo en Italia- de libre acceso y uso, pero ofrece alquiler de sombrillas, y otros servicios.

Para aquellos que quieran completar un dia de playa con otras alternativas hay una una pequeña isla de fácil acceso frente a la playa.

The Lombardy Bay is located near Vieste, under the Gargano promontory.

Due to its geographical location, it is oriented towards the generally cold north winds and protected from the very hot south winds coming from Africa.

It is one of the most easily accessible bays as it can be reached directly along the Provincial Route 52 that connects Peschici with Vieste.

La Bahia de los Lombardos se encuentra cerca de Vieste, debajo del promontorio del Gargano.

Por su ubicación geográfica está orientada hacia los vientos del norte generalmente frios y protegida de los vientos del sur provenientes del Africa, muy calurosos.

Es una de las bahías de más fácil acceso ya que se puede llegar a ella directamente recorriendo la Ruta Provincial 52 que une Peschici con Vieste.

The bay of Molinella is located on the northeast coast of the Gargano promontory and quite close to Vieste.

The beach, located in the bay, is enclosed in the middle of pine-covered poplar groves and Mediterranean scrub.

Also like the previous one, it is enclosed and protected from the winds, whether from the north or the south.

La bahía de Molinella se encuentra en la costa noreste del promontorio del Gargano y bastante cerca de Vieste.

La playa, situada en la bahía, está encerrada en medio de alamedas cubiertas de pinos y matorrales mediterráneos.

También como la anterior está encerrada y protegida de los vientos, ya sean del norte o del sur.
